Fatih Emrah Demir was born in Ankara in 1988. He graduated from Gazi University Special Education Department in 2012 as a high honour student. In the same year, he was appointed first in the field of educational sciences and started working as a special education teacher for students with severe and multiple disabilities in Kütahya. Demir, who started working as a research assistant at Gaziantep University Special Education Department in 2013, was assigned by the University to do his master's and doctoral studies at Gazi University Special Education Department. He graduated from Gazi University, Department of Special Education, with a master's degree in 2014 and a doctorate program in 2019. During his doctoral education, TUBITAK supported the researcher within the scope of the 2211A Domestic scholarship program. Due to his thoughts that practice and theory are mutually supporting and inseparable from each other, he focused on practical studies, in addition to his academic duties, during his postgraduate education, where he applied evidence-based methods in individual and group environments with students affected by different disabilities and based on a transdisciplinary team approach. The researcher returned to Gaziantep University Special Education Department during his doctoral thesis phase and worked with Dr. Lecturer. He continues to serve as a member, conduct many courses, and perform administrative duties as department head. Demir's primary field is teaching reading and social skills to students with special needs. In addition to his main field of work, Demir continues his work for individuals with special needs, such as refugees/temporary protection status. The researcher also provides consultancy services in family education and family counselling. Demir has many studies published in national and international journals and presented at scientific meetings. The researcher can speak and write English at an excellent level and German and Hebrew at an intermediate level.
