Writing Rules

The submission file should be in Microsoft Word document file format (.doc or .docx)

Authors may use following Microsoft Word template in submission:

In addition to the aforementioned format, following style and organization factors should be applied:

  1. The length of the manuscript should be a maximum of 8000 words, plus references, tables, figures.
  2. The abstract should be 200 words or less describing the main points of the article. Also include up to 10 key words that describe the contents of the article.
  3. Manuscripts should be ordered as follows: title page, abstract, text, references, appendices.
  4. All figures, tables and lists should be places within the text and have a caption with ordered number (like Figure 1, Figure 2. etc.)
  5. Cite figures consecutively in your manuscript.
  6. Manuscripts should not include any information about author or authors (like name, surname, affiliation, contact information, etc.). Rather these information should be provided during submission steps for all authors including with their ORCID IDs.

References must be cited in text and styled in the reference list according to the Publication Manual of the American Psychological Association (6th ed. - more information) (see examples below).

  • Journal Article:
    Bekerian, D. A. (1993). In search of the typical eyewitness. American Psychologist, 48, 574-576.

  • Book:
    James, H. (1937). Title of the book. New York, NY: Scribner.

  • Dissertations and theses:
    Duman, A. (2014). Title of the dissertation/thesis . Başkent University, Ankara, Turkey.

  • Chapter in an Edited Book:
    Bjork, R. A. (1989). Retrieval inhibition as an adaptive mechanism in human memory. In H. L. Roediger III & F. I. M. Craik (Eds.), Varieties of memory & consciousness (pp. 309-330). Hillsdale, NJ: Erlbaum

  • For multiple authors in journals and books; If six or fewer, list all authors; If more than six, list the first six, followed by et al.
