Blind Review is the most common method used in scientific publications in order to ensure high quality of publication, in other words, to perform an objective evaluation process. It is one of the most common methods used by many academic journals. The publications sent to Journal of Mother Tongue Education are evaluated by double blind review method. In double blind review, identities of authors and reviewers are kept confidential.

Submissions are managed by Journal of Mother Tongue Education (JOMTE) as illustrated in the following steps:
    1. Submitted manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism analysis, at the first stage. For a given manuscript to pass this stage, the plagiarism analysis result should be at most 30% including the bibliography.
    2. Manuscripts passing plagiarism analysis are evaluated by the editor/editors and/or members of the editorial board in terms of purpose, scope, methodology and spelling.
    3. Manuscripts that do not comply with the rules of spelling shall not be included in the peer review process.
    4. Manuscripts meeting the principles of publication and spelling are sent to three peers whose works are recognized in the field, without mentioning the name of the author, to be evaluated scientifically. Journal policy mandates that a journal manuscript be reviewed by at least three competent reviewers.
    5. Peers are not informed about the identities of the authors, and authors are not informed about peers likewise.
    6. Peers are given 15 day for their review. When this time is exceeded, a reminder letter is sent (7 day). Therefore, review process of referees may sometimes take longer time than a month. Besides, the process of assigning referees by field editors for the preliminary reviewed papers by the editor take about 7 days.
    7. Two positive reviews are required for acceptance.
    8. Two negative reviews are required for rejection.
    9. Authors are required to consider the criticism and suggestions of peers about the manuscript they submit if any correction needed. However, if they do not agree with the criticism and the suggestions, they should explain the reasons on a separate page.
    10. It’s the author’s responsibility to re-submit the manuscript with corrections in a given deadline. The revised manuscript can be reviewed again by the peers who demand the changes if necessary. Editors can make small changes to the manuscript that do not affect the content is necessary.
    11. Peer reviews are sent to authors of the manuscript that are accepted for publication. Manuscripts that have been sent to editor upon completing changes and corrections are prepared for typesetting and design process. Manuscripts are subjected to plagiarism analysis. Positive report receiving articles, typesetting and design process of which have been completed, are sent to authors for control one last time.
    12. Peer reviews and correspondence about the manuscript are archived in the journal automation.
