Year 2023, Volume: 16 Issue: 4, 2553 - 2578, 16.12.2023

Abstract

This study enlightens the cultural routes and the route-developing process; and scrutinizes the cultural route-developing process in the Menteşe Urban Protected Area, Muğla, Turkey. The study aims to explain the cultural route-development process and to design the cultural routes of the Menteşe Urban Protected Area. The data used in the design of the routes were obtained from systematic field trips made to the urban protected area. Four of the field trips that took place between September and November 2021 were prior to the route-developing process; two of them were carried out after the route sketches were designed. The “Cultural Route Planning Model” was adopted in the route development. A four-stage model was followed: (i) Infrastructure: Process Preparation, (ii) Overview: Research and Evaluation, (iii) Planning: Regional Route-Creating, (iv) Management: Realization and Promotion Process. The route-development process used situation analysis, classification, and mapping. Therefore, in the second part of the study, results, and suggestions about the cultural routes of the Menteşe Urban Protected Area are presented.

Kültür Rotaları ve Rota Geliştirme Süreci: Menteşe Kentsel Sit Alanı Kültür Rotalarının Geliştirilmesi

Year 2023, Volume: 16 Issue: 4, 2553 - 2578, 16.12.2023
https://doi.org/10.35674/kent.1229810
