The aim of this research was to investigate the relationship between school burnout and depression-anxiety among high school students. The descriptive and predictive relationships between school burnout and depression were studied. Convenience sampling was employed for selection of the study group. For this purpose, the study group consisted of 712 students receiving education in the high schools of a provincial center. School burnout inventory and depressive symptoms inventory were used for data collection. Correlation and regression analyses were used for analysis of the results obtained during the research. After the conducted analyses, positive and significant relationships were detected between school burnout and depression-anxiety; also school burnout was found to be a significant predictor of depression and anxiety. In light of the research findings, school burnout can be regarded as an important risk factor for depression and anxiety.
