Fas Yahudileri

Abstract

Yahudilerin Fas’a geliş tarihleri sonradan Fenikeliler olarak adlandırılan Kartacalılara kadar dayandırılır. Dünyanın pek çok yerinde olduğu gibi Fas’ta da ticaretle iştigal olan Yahudiler bu ülkenin hem Akdeniz hem de Atlas Okyanusu’na kıyısı olmasından istifade ettiler. Zaman içerisinde içerlek bölgelerde de ticarette etkin oldular. Portekiz ve İspanya’nın bulunduğu İberik Yarımadası’na sadece 14 km mesafede olması Fas’ın ticaretine önemli katkılar sundu. Lakin İspanyollar ve Portekizliler Fas Müslümanları ve Yahudilerine büyük husumet besliyorlardı. Bu husumet yarımadada bulunan Müslüman Moriskolar ve Yahudiler için de geçerliydi. Nitekim her ikisine de saldırılar ve katliamlar gerçekleştirdiler. Bu katliamlar sonucu pek çok Yahudi 1492’den itibaren Fas’a göç etmek zorunda kaldı. Sefarad olarak adlandırılan bu Yahudiler de zaman içerisinde Fas’ın yerli unsurları haline geldiler.
Bu çalışmada yabancı araştırma-inceleme eserlerden yararlanılarak Yahudilerin Fas’ın ekonomik yapısına etkileri, Alliance Israelite Universelle (AIU)’ın maarif alanındaki faaliyetleri, Fas’ın Fransız sömürgesi evveli ve sömürge dönemindeki durumları ve Yahudi devletinin kurulması itibariyle bu ülkeye göçleri hakkında bilgi verildi.
