Abstract

Amaç: Bu çalışma X,Y ve Z kuşağında yer alan lohusaların ebeveynlik davranışını karşılaştırmak amacıyla yapılmıştır.
Yöntem: Bu araştırma tanımlayıcı ve karşılaştırmalı nitelikte bir araştırmadır. Araştırma verileri, Türkiye’nin doğusunda iki ilin kadın hastalıkları ve doğum hizmeti veren hastanelerde Aralık 2018-Temmuz 2019 tarihleri arasında Kişisel Bilgi Formu ve Doğum Sonrası Ebeveynlik Davranışı Ölçeği (DSEDÖ) kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Lohusaların doğal davranışını gözleyebilmek için önce DSEDÖ, sonra anket formu araştırmacılar tarafından doldurulmuştur.
Bulgular: X kuşağı lohusaların %73.1’nin çekirdek, %26.9’nun geniş aile olduğu, %47.8’nin ilkokul, %36.1’nin ortaokul ,%16.0’ sının lise ve üzeri eğitime sahip olduğu belirlenmiştir. Y kuşağı lohusaların %75.5’i çekirdek, %24.5’ inin geniş aile olduğu, %44.8’nin ilkokul, %36.8’nin ortaokul, %18.4’nün lise ve üstü eğitime sahip olduğu saptanmıştır. Z kuşağı lohusaların %69.0 çekirdek, %31’i geniş aile olduğu, %36.9’nun ilkokul, % 42.7’sinin ortaokul, %20.4’nün lise ve üstü eğitime sahip olduğu bulunmuştur. X kuşağı lohusaların %72.5’nin, Y kuşağı lohusaların %76.7’sinin, Z kuşağı lohusaların %79.6’sının istenen gebelik olduğu tespit edilmiştir. X kuşağı lohusaların DSEDÖ puan ortalamasının 3.95±1.58, Y kuşağı lohusaların DSEDÖ puan ortalamasının 3.95±1.58, Z kuşağı lohusaların DSEDÖ puan ortalamasının 3.84±1.82 olduğu saptanmıştır. Kuşaklara göre lohusaların DSEDÖ puan ortalaması değerlendirildiğinde grupların puan ortalaması arasındaki farkın istatistiksel olarak anlamlı olduğu bulunmuştur.(p=0.01)
Sonuç: Y kuşağındaki lohusaların doğum sonrası ebeveynlik davranışlarının daha iyi olduğu bulunmuştur.

Comparing the Parentig Behaviors of Postpartum Women from the X, Y, and Z Generations

Abstract

Aim: This study was conducted to compare the parenthood behaviors of postpartum women from the X, Y, and Z generations.
Method: This study was conducted as a descriptive and comparative study. The data of the study were collected using the Personal Information Form and the Postpartum Parenting Behavior Scale (PPBS) in the hospitals providing gynecology and obstetrics service in the two provinces in eastern Turkey between December 2018 and July 2019. The PPBS and then a questionnaire were completed by the researchers In order to observe the natural behaviors of the postpartum women.
Results: It was determined that among the postpartum women from the X generation, 73.1% had a nuclear family, 26.9% had an extended family, 47.8% were primary school graduates, 36.1% were secondary school graduates, and 16.0% were high school graduates and above.
It was found that among the postpartum women from the Y generation, 75.5% had a nuclear family, 24.5% had an extended family, 44.8% were primary school graduates, 36.8% were secondary school graduates, and 18.4% were high school graduates and above. It was determined that among the postpartum women from the Z generation, 69.0% had a nuclear family, 31% had an extended family, 36.9% were primary school graduates, 42.7% were secondary school graduates, and 20.4% were high school graduates and above. It was found that 72.5% of the postpartum women from the X generation, 76.7% of the postpartum women from the Y generation, and 79.6% of the postpartum women from the Z generation had intended pregnancy. The PPBS mean score was 3.95±1.58 for the postpartum women from the X generation, 3.95±1.58 for the postpartum women from the Y generation, and 3.84±1.82 for the postpartum women from the Z generation. When evaluating the PPBS mean score of the postpartum women according to generations, it was determined that there was a statistically significant difference between the mean score of the groups (p=0.01).
Conclusion: It was found that the postpartum parenting behaviors were better in the postpartum women from the Y generation.
