Abstract

Year 2024, Volume: 12 Issue: 1, 19 - 26, 15.01.2024
https://doi.org/10.30720/ered.1307639

Abstract

Purpose: COVID-19 is the biggest pandemic seen in the last century and affecting the whole of society. The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between leisure time and life satisfaction of occupational therapists who have been affected by the COVID-19 process. Material and Methods: The research group consisted of 50 occupational therapists. Leisure Satisfaction Scale was used to evaluate the leisure satisfaction of the participants and Life Satisfaction Questionnaire was used to evaluate their life satisfaction. Results: The life satisfaction of occupational therapists in this process is related to the satisfaction levels they feel in the psychological and educational areas of their leisure time (p<0.05). No relationship was found between the level of satisfaction felt in the social, relaxation, physical and esthetic areas of leisure time and life satisfaction (p>0.05). Conclusion: Examining the satisfaction levels of individuals in their leisure time and their life satisfaction helps individuals to choose appropriate activities when needed in their lives. In future research, it is recommended to evaluate life satisfaction in areas such as work, education, sleep-rest, leisure time and activities of daily living.
