Abstract
The aim of this study is to determine the attitudes of religious education teachers towards the profession and the belief levels in education. The sample group of the study, which was designed with relational survey model, was 354 RE teachers working in İstanbul. According to the results of the research, RE teachers' attitudes towards teaching profession and their general beliefs in education, are low. RE teachers have a low level of belief in religious education. A significant relationship was found between the belief in education and attitude towards the profession. In order to realize the purpose of religious education, teachers who believe in education and who love their profession should be present in the education system. The results of this research will provide important data to those working in the field of religious education, those who determine religious education policies and teacher training institutions; it is also thought to close a significant gap in the literature.
