The aim of this study is to explore burnout and life satisfaction levels of teachers who have been working with students with special needs in special education schools according to some variables. Data were collected from 292 teachers working Anatolia side of Istanbul by using Maslach Burnout Inventory and Life Satisfaction Scale. Out of 292, 179 were male, 113 were female teachers. Results showed that there were significant differences between teachers' burnout scores on age, years of their experience and type of schools in which they worked and there were significant differences between teachers’ life satisfaction levels according to their gender and ages. Results also showed that there was a significant negative correlation between total MBI scores and MBI subscales’ scores and life satisfaction scale scores
Bu araştırmanın amacı özel eğitim okullarında çalışan öğretmenlerin tükenmişlik ve yaşam doyumu düzeylerini çeşitli değişkenler ve birbiriyle ilişkisi açısından incelemektir. Araştırmada Maslach Tükenmişlik Ölçeği (MTÖ) ile Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeği (YDÖ) İstanbul ili Anadolu yakasında bulunan özel eğitim okullarında görev yapan 179 erkek, 113 kadın toplam 292 öğretmene uygulanmıştır. Bulgular, katılımcıların tükenmişlik düzeylerinin yaşlarına, meslekte çalışma sürelerine, çalışmakta oldukları okul türüne göre; yaşam doyum düzeylerinin ise cinsiyetlerine ve yaşlarına göre anlamlı düzeyde farklılaştığını göstermektedir. Ayrıca katılımcıların MTÖ ve YDÖ puanları arasında negatif yönde anlamlı düzeyde korelasyon olduğu bulunmuştur. Bulgular makalede tartışılmıştır
